IF ORDERING FROM THE EURO ZONE:

Yes, Si, Ja, Oui,  - WE ACCEPT EURO MONEY!

The quickest and simplest way to order from Europe is to use your credit / debit card but if you don't want to do that then here's how to remit in Euros.

SENDING EURO CASH:  Total your order in pounds Sterling. Send EURO notes (i.e. paper money only - no coins) at the rate of  €1.50 Euros for every pound Sterling (this covers for exchange commissions etc.which we will itemise for you,) .  Send in the money and your order by air-mail.  Once we have packed and prepared your order, if there are any overpayments we will of course credit your account with the balance.

Calculating your order is easy.  All prices are shown on our website in British Pounds.  Forget about your own currency for the moment.  Add up the prices in British Pounds from the website.  Postage: on some offers we clearly quote the U.K. price and another higher Overseas Price which includes the cost of sending the item to you by airmail.  If there is no Overseas Airmail Inclusive Price shown please add 15% to the UK price to cover airmail carriage and packing. (30 years experience shows this to be a ubiquitous average - we will itemise postage to the penny and always credit any shortfall).  Once you have the total of your goods including carriage then multiply this overall total by 1.50%  (the Euro exchange rate we set) and that's what you need to send in Euro Notes.  (example: Cost of  goods ordered £100.00 plus 15% airmail = £115.00 overall total  x 1.50% = 172.50  So send  175.00 Euro Notes to cover.

Paying by Euros has distinct advantages for some customers, particularly for those who require utmost confidentiality.  It's quick. It's Easy. It's secure. You don't need a bank account; no waiting whilst you visit the post office  or bank (ideal for the rurally isolated) , you don't pay poundage charges, despatch of your goods is immediate - there's no waiting for clearance and there's no trace of the sale through your personal accounts or on your card statement for any critical family or spouse to see**. We will of course always provide full itemised printed documentation  / receipts with your orders for your own records however you choose to pay.  For some European clients paying by Euros is ideal - here's how to get the best from it:

It is best to use Registered Post.  If you choose to take the risk of sending Euro currency through the normal post without registering  it  then note the following:

Any overpayments will be credited to your account . For example. If  your order totals overall £9.99 - send 15.00  ( 1 x 5.00 note + 1 x 10.00 note or 3 x 5.00)  because £9.99 x 1.50 %  conversion factor  =  14.98.  The balance of   any overpayment will be credited to your account for future use. We account down to the last penny and have been in business for a quarter of a century but if you do not intend buying anything else from us in future then you can elect to have any overpayment returned to you in the nearest multiples of  IRC Vouchers (IRC= international postage reply coupons which are useable at any post office worldwide).  For example; when we have calculated everything out, if remitting by Euros means you send £3.00 over the odds, then you can choose to have that returned in 6 x IRCs (value £2.82 pence) .  Currently IRCs are worth 47 pence each in Britain. Or you can keep the £3.00 in credit in your account for next time.  If you choose a refund by IRCs then you may lose a few pence;  Big deal, this is still far and away cheaper than paying for poundage on Postal/Money orders ;  so you are still quids in and have the flexibility of paying by Euros. (by the way; the excess 6p will be accounted for at the end of the week and donated to the Sacred Trees Trust, a non-profit making conservationist organisation).   If after completing your order there is a small amount - say less than £1.00 -  left over, to repay your trust, we may choose to send you a useful Surprise Gift worth more than the amount outstanding so we can clear your account of small change. .

If sending Euros you do not of course have to pay the Bank Transaction Fee.

Goods paid for by  Euros are despatched by return post.

Clients often send Euros through the post and save considerably on costs . Canny regulars know that after a few orders they've saved enough poundage to indemnify them from possible loss and thus are topside.   Loss in the post to us is extremely rare. Some regulars have paid by cash for years and never had a problem.    However, if you adopt this method you do so at your own risk.  If  unsure perhaps you should try a smaller order first until you get used to it?

REGISTERED MAIL OFFER:  If your order totals more than £100.00 and you are paying by Euro cash then we will pay your Registered Post costs (£3.95) for you.   Register your envelope and deduct £3.95  ( Six Euros equivalent)  from the total of your remittance - we will take care of everything else.

* * Note that to preserve the confidentiality of those who do use a credit/debit card the entry on your statement will read simply:  'S.A. Mail-Order Leeds'
